James Klawiter, IIDA, CID, NCIDQ

Founder, Klawiter Interior Planning and Design

James founded Klawiter and Associates, Inc. to provide creative, high-quality design for the California business community. The firm’s focus is on corporate design and tenant improvement work encompassing projects in the financial, entertainment, not-for-profit and corporate sectors. The nationally ranked firm has offices in downtown Los Angeles and works on projects throughout the western United States.

James received his Bachelor of Arts degree from U.C.L.A. in Environmental Design. Prior to starting his own company James was Director of Major Projects at Knoll International, managing the programming, planning and dealer coordination of systems furniture for large corporate facilities.

James is past president of the International Interior Design Association / Southern California Chapter, three-time Chair of the Southern California IIDA Calibre Design Awards event, past member of the IIDA International Nominating Committee and IIDA International Foundation. He joined the Council for Interior Design Qualification (CIDQ) Board of Directors in 2016 and served as President in 2019.
